2008
The first stack for our feature film
Like most great businesses, Prop Movie Money Inc. was founded out of a dire need for a product that wasn’t available on the market – high-quality movie money for sale. During our film school days while working on our 1st feature film titled “5th of A Degree”, a scene required safe-to-use, realistic fake money, but we found the available options on the market lacking.
Motivated by our passion for filmmaking and equipped with graphic design skills, we took on the challenge to create the fake money props ourselves. But the story didn’t end there. It was just the beginning of the decade-long ride.
2010
Secret Service came knocking
Our initial dream of working in the film industry took an unexpected turn when our money props caught the attention of industry professionals. This marked the beginning of our formal venture into the business. After a crucial interaction with the Secret Service that led to a design overhaul for compliance, we launched PropMovieMoney.com, quickly establishing ourselves as the premier source of high-quality prop money.
2015
New 1980s series for Tom Cruise movie
Our journey from there was marked by rapid growth; what began as fulfilling small orders soon evolved into supplying prop money for major film productions.
This included fulfilling a significant order for Universal Studios for the film American Made, starring Tom Cruise. This prompted a creation of the 1980s money series and the success of this project led to the expansion of our operations and the opening of our first warehouse.
2019
The Billion Dollar Throne & More
Over the years, we’ve built lasting relationships with prop masters, major studios, and independent filmmakers. We’ve also provided prop money for Police departments, the DEA, Homeland Security Department, US Airforce and the U.S. Army for training and educational purposes. These collaborations have deepened our understanding of what this industry actually demands, and helped us deliver solutions tailored to both creative and tactical use.
Our journey has also led to some unexpected (and unforgettable) moments—from meeting Arthur J. Williams Jr., the former counterfeiter turned artist, at Art Palm Beach in 2019… to building a Game of Thrones-inspired money throne that started as a one-off local activation and ended up featured at Art Basel, Art Palm Beach, and was eventually purchased by Studio Space Atlanta, where it’s still available to rent today.

Since our humble beginnings, our prop money has since featured in over 300 cinematic titles, playing pivotal roles across a spectrum of narratives and genres. From series like "Ozark" to “Spiderman: Homecoming” and other major Hollywood films, our work has significantly contributed to the storytelling power of countless productions.
Our work was also featured in a deep-dive by The Wall Street Journal exploring the power—and responsibility—of printing prop money at scale.
The story spotlighted how our team navigates the tension between realism and legal limits, and how that attention to detail has made us better money managers in real life, too.
